The Chosen

My son Dan loves everything about Movies! He has a degree in all things film and loves being on the sets.  He spent a couple of seasons working on the set of The Chosen as part of the lighting engineers.  He called one day to say the head of the props department was looking for someone to make bags and was I interested.  Well, yeah! So, that’s how I came to  be involved with The Chosen. I was asked to contribute bags to seasons 3 and 4. They are very specific about what types of bags they want so it can be a challenge.  For Season 3 they asked for traveling bags and leather water buckets that actually hold water. That took some research! I recreated the apostles’ bags for Season 4  for a scene that was going to ruin the originals.  So my bags were basically the stunt doubles! I spend the episodes looking to see if I can spot one of my bags.  It can be tough because the prop guys beat them up and make them look old. Which to be honest,  kind of hurts my soul because I give them beautiful leather bags and they drag them in the dirt. But ya know, it is a a fun project to be involved in!
